I was wondering if it would be possible to isolate the signal generated by the power supply using a diode and a cap. Below is a schematic of my idea. By measuring the impedance of my loop as it is conducting current through to the diode, I can search for the rising power supply current that is feeding power back into the circuit and make a guess as to when that part of the loop is activated.
Furthermore, the thought was to use a diode to rectify the voltage generated by the power supply to a usable voltage to power a voltage sensitive transistor. I believe that this is a combination of a diode and a cap to ground, as a diode will conduct for the forward voltage drop, and the cap will supply a steady voltage to the base of my transistor. When the power supply transistor is activated, it turns on and keeps the transistor conducting and thus there is a good connection and all available current is available. When the transistor turns off, the diode will not conduct the power back into the transistor base and the transistor will be out of the conducting state. I am aware this is really ugly, but a transistor for a PWM would require a really large resistor for the base which would heat it up and destroy it if it was to be used in this case.
IMPLEMENTATION ASSUMPTION: Due to the power and circuit requirements of a 300W PWM power supply, this design is based on an active load of 300W. Multiple amplifications, filtering and theamp=300W are not discussed.
