I’m in the process of turning my book into an audiobook, but I’m struggling to choose the right publisher. With so many audiobook publishing services out there—Audible (ACX), Findaway Voices, and others—I’m not sure which one is the best fit.
Some services offer full production, while others let you handle narration yourself. Then there’s the question of royalties—some take a big cut but offer wider distribution, while others give you more control but require more effort on your end. I also want to make sure my audiobook reaches major platforms like Audible, Apple Books, and Spotify.
For those who have published audiobooks before:
Which publishing service did you use, and how was your experience?
Did you go for exclusive or non-exclusive distribution?
Any advice on choosing the right narrator (if needed)?
How important is marketing support from the publisher?
I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences! If you had to start over, would you choose the same audiobook publishing service, or would you do things differently?
